BSRI Announces Appointment of New President / CEO

The Board of Directors of Brunswick Senior Resources, Inc. is proud to announce appointment of Michael J. David-Wilson as its new President / Chief Executive Officer. Mr. David-Wilson will replace our Founding President / Chief Executive Officer, Jim Russell, who has served capably in that capacity for the last 8 years. Mr. Russell will retire as President / CEO effective July 31.

“Our new President / Chief Executive Officer is uniquely qualified to help BSRI grow and mature as an organization and help advance BSRI’s mission “to promote the well-being and enhance the quality of life for all senior adults of Brunswick County” said Mary Earp, President, BSRI Board of Directors. “He comes to Brunswick County, North Carolina from New Jersey where he has amassed an impressive number of significant professional accomplishments.” He has been nominated for membership and is listed in the 2010 Cambridge Who’s Who of Executives, Professionals and Entrepreneurs.

As Executive Director of the Middlesex County College (MCC) Foundation for the last 7 years, Mr. David-Wilson was responsible for management and growth of its multi-million dollar financial aid and scholarship endowment. The Foundation’s mission is “to provide Middlesex County College students with a chance to realize their academic and career dreams through consistent, growing financial aid and scholarships”. Middlesex County College is the largest county college in New Jersey as well as the largest referrer of students to New Jersey’s four year colleges. Middlesex County College Foundation has consistently been a leader among its peers in terms of fundraising success and financial accountability.

Mr. David-Wilson is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) who has raised more than $25 million for not-for-profit health and human services agencies and educational foundations. In December of 2007 the MCC Foundation concluded its Community Investment Campaign which surpassed its initial $3 million goal by more than $555,000. In December 2009 he secured his third 1 million dollar principal gift from an individual for the Foundation. He is currently less than $20,000 away from raising $500,000 in new scholarship gifts needed to earn a $500,000 scholarship challenge match before June 30, 2010.

Prior to becoming Executive Director of the Middlesex County College Foundation, he worked at the North

Jersey Community Research Initiative (NJCRI) in Newark, New Jersey. While at NJCRI he served first as

Director of Social Services: Administration, Planning and Development and then as Director of Institutional Advancement directing a 6.5 million dollar capital campaign. Mr. David-Wilson also served for 11 years as Founder and Director of The AIDS Center at Hope House (Catholic Social Services of Morris County) with offices in Morris, Sussex and Warren Counties. In this role he was personally responsible for securing millions of dollars in funding to establish and grow comprehensive HIV specific psychosocial services for residents of one suburban and two rural counties in north western New Jersey.

Mr. David-Wilson has served in many board and committee leadership capacities over the past 22 years. He serves on the Parish Finance Council of Saint Luke’s Roman Catholic Church in North Plainfield, NJ. Until recently he served as a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, New Jersey Chapter’s Board of Directors. He served for many years on the Boards of Directors of the Newark EMA HIV Health Services Planning Council and the New Jersey AIDS Partnership. He is a sought after speaker on topics related to fundraising, endowment management and Board Development. Recently he was a featured speaker at the Council for Resource Development’s Region I, II and III Conference in Atlantic City and at the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) 46th International Conference on Fundraising in New Orleans, LA. Mr. David-Wilson is listed in the 2010 Cambridge Who’s Who of Executives, Professionals and Entrepreneurs.

He earned a BA from St. Alphonsus College in Suffield, CT, an MTS from Washington Theological Union, Silver Springs, MD and a Graduate Certificate in Not-For-Profit Organization Management from Seton Hall University’s Center for Public Service. He is also a Certified Social Worker (CSW).

Michael David-Wilson has resided in Piscataway, NJ with his wife Dottie for 10 years. Their daughter, Dottie Krista, is currently a senior enrolled in the Nursing Program at Ramapo College of New Jersey.
